Pre-purchase Ship Inspection - Bulk Cargo Carrier
Here is an example of a ship which the client is proposing to purchase. A pre-purchase inspection surveys all aspects and systems of the ship to help ensure that the client pays a fair market price.
These surveys can be quite intensive with many reports, certificates and detailed records explored and verified, as well as general condition of the ship itself. The purchase of such an asset is not to be taken lightly and without proper professional advice.

A Dirty Job - In larger ships where ballast tanks are employed, the tanks have to be visually inspected. The amount of sludge and other foreign matter is assessed in addition to noting the extent of any corrosion. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!

Pre-sale Inspections - Seized Boats
Above and to left - Jamaican "canoes" turn up for sale occasionally and have to be valued before the sale.  Seized boats from the illicit drugs trade are either broken up or may be sold to the credit of the local treasury.
Pounding in Heavy Seas - These stress cracks in a 19 foot speedboat were found inside a centrally located storage compartment. The compartment was crowded with gear and supplies, which had to be removed to be able to see this serious hidden damage.
