Oops! - This boat managed to come in contact with the reef. This type of damage should be avoided at all costs! |
Here is a random selection of photographs showing a few of
the many
boats that were impacted by Hurricane Ivan. Many ended
up high and dry on the land with some more than a mile
from the sea.
Captain Mike Pickthorne was appointed to conduct the damage
surveys of
all these vessels and many, many more after Hurricane Ivan.

When in 2008
Hurricanes Gustav and Poloma struck the vicinity of

Whammy! - This boat was blown up onto this Cayman Brac beach and slightly damaged during Hurricane GUSTAV at the end of August 2008. | |
| Double Whammy - The same boat was again damaged by Hurricane Poloma in November 2008 and is now a constructive total loss. As can be seen, the adhesive bond between the deck and the hull has been destroyed. |
