Stay off the Reef!
Oops! - This boat managed to come in contact with the reef. This type of damage should be avoided at all costs!

Here is a random selection of photographs showing a few of
the many boats that were impacted by Hurricane Ivan. Many ended
up high and dry on the land with some more than a mile from the sea.

Captain Mike Pickthorne was appointed to conduct the damage
surveys of all these vessels and many, many more after Hurricane Ivan.

Post-Hurricane Chaos!
No Parking! - This boat was pushed up on the land by the storm surge and came to rest on the side of a road.
Bad Landing! - This smaller boat washed up on the land as well by the storm surge.
Scrambled Boats! - This smaller boat wound up pushed by the storm surge into a jumble of boats of every size.
Happy Accident? - This dive boat was lifted by storm surge waters and deposited at the edge of a private swimming pool.  Handy for that last instruction before an open water dive!

When in 2008 Hurricanes Gustav and Poloma struck the vicinity of
Cayman Brac, further damage was inflicted to marine interests.
More Post-Hurricane Chaos!
Whammy! - This boat was blown up onto this Cayman Brac beach and slightly damaged during Hurricane GUSTAV at the end of August 2008.
Double Whammy - The same boat was again damaged by Hurricane Poloma in November 2008 and is now a constructive total loss.  As can be seen, the adhesive bond between the deck and the hull has been destroyed.
